Pastor Cyndi Wunder

Lead Pastor

In 2021 I was called to serve BakerFP as their pastor. I was drawn to this incredible loving community which has such a big heart for children and is deeply invested in a truly welcoming hospitality. I love that this church loves to feed people, loves to try new things, and isn’t afraid to make mistakes. I love that we can laugh at ourselves and that we work so closely with the broader community. I truly love that this church is so deeply engaged in mission, in loving and caring for our neighbors. I also serve on the Synod and Presbytery level.
I was born in John Day. Coming back to Eastern Oregon was a homecoming for me. I have lived in many places as a military wife and as a minister. My children live in Central Oregon. Eastern Oregon is one of the most beautiful places in the world, a well kept secret. I love the people, the culture, and the mountains.
I have a deep love of our military and first responders. Both my father and stepfather were medics and both of them served. My ex-husband is a bronze star veteran who served 20 years, 13 of those years I was with him living on military posts in Germany and at Fort Knox. The deep commitment of our service people, and the willingness of first responders to jump into the fray to help others, is something I deeply respect and admire.
On a good weekend, you will find me up in the mountains riding my mustang, who I gentled and trained myself. I love to ride, hike, swim, and kayak when I have time. I do love doing building projects, such as re-roofing a house, or building small cabins. I love gardening and just hanging out with my dogs.
